How can Counselling help me?

Sometimes it is difficult to make sense of things in your life; such things may include:


  • Repeating patterns in your life – you notice something happening more than once, which may be the way you think, your behaviour, or other peoples’ behaviour and attitudes towards you.
  • Not being able to understand why you behave in a certain way – you just find yourself doing it, even though you may know that it is unhelpful or even harmful.
  • Not being able to understand why you feel unhappy or depressed – you may say, “I’ve got so much to be grateful for, I can’t understand why I feel unhappy”. This can lead to guilt for feeling the way you do – which may lead to you ignoring or squashing this unhappy feeling.
  • Obsessions, fears or rituals which control your life and prevent you from doing things you want to do.
